Vocabulary Words and Example of Usage

1. bountiful – If you had a bountiful amount of something, you would have a lot of it.
2. vast – Something that is vast is so wide it would be hard to get across it.
3. stature – A person’s stature is his or her height.
4. relentless – Someone who is relentless is trying to do something, keeps at it and refuses to give up.
5. roused– If you roused someone, you wake up or alerted that person.
6. resourceful – A resourceful person is good at finding ways to solve problems.
7. intentions – Intentions are ideas about what a person means to do.
8. inadvertently – If you do something inadvertently, you do it without meaning to.

Things You May Want to Know...

From PTA

Feb 1st-- Pistol Pete's Family Night -- Pistol Pete's donates 10% of all sales back to Pine Ridge PTA, (but you have to mention you are with Pine Ridge).

Feb 8th- PTA Meeting 7:00pm 3rd grade will be performing.

Feb 18th- Books and Bingo Family Night-- more info to follow soon, but time will be 6-8 p.m. We are looking for donations of new and used books for prizes. We will also have additional fun prizes (board games, cards, gift cards, etc.) Dinner will be FREE to all (provided by PTA)!

Every Friday is Spirit Day-- continue to show your Pine Ridge Pride by wearing a Pine Ridge t-shirt. The class with the most participation per month will win a pizza party!!

2. brilliant – Things that are brilliant are very bright, and often shiny.
3. exotic – Something exotic is unusual and interesting because it came from a faraway place.

5. mischievous– Someone who is mischievous likes to play tricks on other people.
6. participate – If you participate in a game, you are involved in it.

Vocabulary Words and Example of Usage

1. tinker – When you tinker with something, you try to fix or adjust it.
2. hoaxer – Someone who tries to trick people is a hoaxer.
3. trampled – If you trampled something, you stepped on it very hard and
damaged it.
4. forged – If you forged something together, you did it with great effort and
you hope it lasts a long time.
5. perfect– To perfect something is to improve it so that it is the best it can be.
6. quest – A quest is a journey with a specific purpose.
7. barriers – Barriers are objects or people that keep you from moving ahead.
